Killyleagh library fed my brain for many many years – I remember Hiliary, Mrs Rice and Mrs Napier giving me “temporary” tickets for the 8-10 books that I would read per week! By the age of 10 they would chose me books from the adult section – I remember so many great adventures from the books in Killyleagh library. It is down to those books that I went on to achieve 2 BA, 1 MA, 1 PhD (Law) and am now sitting for my LLB in New Zealand where I now live. What a dreadful loss for the children of Killyleagh if the library closes – SAVE KILLYLEAGH LIBRARY!!!
CHRIS MORELY of Killyleagh has given us this suggestion – “Would it help FOLK if I could get the famous crime author Val McDermid to inscribe her latest book with whatever message you felt to be appropriate to the FOLK group and then perhaps you could auction or raffle it to raise funds?”

A PRE-CHRISTMAS EVENT IN THE LIBRARY is our first suggestion – COME FOR A CUPPA, MUSIC & FUN
The library is going to be open on the evening of the 6th Dec – that’s the night of the Christmas Carols outside the Castle and the Craft Fair in the Dufferin Coaching Inn on the High Street.
IF YOU’RE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING – WHY NOT GIVE A FOLK MEMBERSHIP TO A FRIEND – A GREAT PRESENT AND YOU’LL BE HELPING THE LIBRARY STAY OPEN INTO THE FUTURE !
